*ARCAPITA AGREES TO BUY VIRIDIAN FOR 1.62 BILLION POUNDS

Oct. 6 (Bloomberg)—ElectricInvest Acquisitions Ltd., a unit of Arcapita Bank BSC, said it agreed to buy Viridian Group Plc, Northern Ireland’s main power supplier, for 1.62 billion pounds ($3 billion). Arcapita will pay 1,336 pence a share for each Viridian share, it said today in a statement sent through the Regulatory News Service. That’s 23 percent more than Viridian’s share price on Oct. 4, the day before Viridian said an approach had been made.
